Job Title: Accountant I
JOB SUMMARY :
Under direct supervision, and training in professional Accounting principles by Accounting Manager, evaluates transactions and records to the GL as necessary to ensure the financials are accurate and complete. Supports internal customers and maintains/updates current financial information. Responsible for the completion of basic balance sheet reconciliations, and income statement analysis.
The Accountant I will perform Month/Quarter end close account reconciliations, journal entries, financial reporting and analysis.
Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Prepare reconciliations and roll forwards of accounts
Daily Bank Reconciliations
Manage month end close process – accruals, account review and analysis
Review various balance sheet accounts and ensure these accounts are accurately reflected in the financial statements
Provide support to ensure all activity is recorded in the general ledger in a timely basis; Allocations, Intercompany transactions, T&E charges, etc.
Work collaboratively with and provide support to other groups within Arrow to ensure all activity is recorded in the general ledger in a timely manner
Collaborate on the preparation of monthly, quarterly and yearly reports regarding general subject matter and or business areas, performing basic analysis when necessary.
Four year college degree in Accounting/Finance and 2 years plus related experience within the accounting field
Strong communication skills, verbal and written, and the ability to communicate with various functional organizations and levels of management
Ability to multi-task
Knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications
Strong accounting background with the ability to prepare reconciliations and account roll-forward
Working knowledge of MS Office Excel, including pivot tables, macros, queries, etc.
Strong aptitude to understand accounting systems and how to extract information
Strong cross-functional team player, able to prioritize under stress to meet deadlines
High level of attention to detail, required in managing analytical tasks
