Sr. Electrical Engineer
Primary responsibilities include product design, system development, test development, customer technical support, prototyping and the process and procedural development required to launch new power circuit and system designs into production. Conduct product, test, and component analysis to ensure customer, industry, safety, and cost requirements are exceeded for designs.
RESPONSABILITIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
Lead and facilitate technical discussions with customers to create new designs and support products currently in production
Design and develop new power supply systems to meet customer requirements and within industry regulations to exceed customer expectations.
Provide technical support to external customers, sales and manufacturing during product design and development
Develop specifications and requirements for system development
Create and document manufacturing processes and procedures including test processes and necessary software to support production
Create local testing capabilities as well as conduct testing in local engineering lab
Provide advanced system and power supply troubleshooting support for manufacturing and external customers
Maintain product requirements and data through the creation of programs and systems
Acts as a subject matter expert for engineering and work with colleagues to ensure products and projects are launched on-time and successfully.
Designs research programs to evaluate electrical systems, products, applications and components
Ensures product quality by designing electrical test methods, processes and procedures.
Creates, prepares and analyzes reports for products and customers to identify trends and improve products and processes
Maintains professional and technical expertise through supplier product trainings and industry workshops and
Work with internal and external groups including sales, product management, purchasing, quality, finance and engineering to successfully manage products from concept through to production
Support quality document development including DFM and PFMEA
BS or MS degree in electrical engineering with a focus on power electronics
8+ years’ experience in power supply design and manufacturing
Relevant work experience in power circuit design, development, test, quality and validation
Working knowledge of ISO, UL, safety regulations and principles
Ability to manage multiple projects and activities, perform in-depth investigation and problem solving analysis, have strong analytical skills and attention to detail
Ability to apply procedures and concepts within own technical/subject area that is often learned through college level courses or extensive, specific work experience.
Ability to perform advanced mathematical calculations including calculus and apply statistical methodologies. Ability to successfully function in a highly analytical role that includes upfront calculation and analysis of data, systems, evaluative judgment and logic to determine cause and effect prior to change implementation. Ability to perform post-change analysis to determine if objectives were met and changes were successful and are sustainable. Ability to perform risk assessment and identify decision points.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers and other employees, regardless of organization function or level.
Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills required. Excellent interpersonal skills a must.
