Engineering Technician

M-F 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Converge, a subsidiary of Arrow Electronics, is a full service, industry-leading, global supply chain partner with over 35 years of experience in electronics components distribution. We are recruiting to hire an Engineering Technician. Counterfeit electronic components have infiltrated and are wreaking havoc in the supply chain at all levels. The Engineering Technician will be tasked with providing both in house testing and outsourced administrative support services to our Component Quality Engineers and Specialists. This will enable out Engineers and Specialists to focus on their core competencies of ensuring counterfeit and substandard components do not surpass our inspection process and ship to our customers.


The Engineering Technician works directly with the CQE and CQS inspection teams in a supportive role. The Engineering Technician provides pre / post inspection services as required. The Engineering Technician executes various in-house testing and baking as directed by the CQE and CQS teams. The Engineering Technician is also responsible for arranging testing with our approved third-party test partners. The Engineering Technician completes Goods and Services Orders and maintains traceability of all outsourced service orders to ensure proper turnaround time with our test partners.


Inspects and tests component at the direction of the CQS and CQE Inspectors. This includes X-ray, baking and decapsulation.

Provides test results to the CQS and CQE teams accurately in written and verbal fashion as required

Takes digital images of components as required.

Contacts approved test partners and arranges testing as required.

Completes Goods and Services orders accurately and completely.

Packages goods for shipment to ensure product arrives safely and undamaged.

Follows up and expedites outstanding orders with third party test partners to ensure goods are tested and returned in a timely fashion.

Inspects goods returned from test partners to ensure parts were not damaged

Job Complexity

Supports Level 2 Inspection Team

Ensures tasks are completed timely and accurately

Coordinates third party testing with approved teat houses

Ensures decisions are guided by established policies and procedures and receives guidance and oversight from manager

Excellent communication skills with all team members in a supportive role


Entry level role Some experience handling electronic components and integrated circuits preferred. Knowledge of ESD S20.20 a plus
