Functional Area

We have exciting opportunities for engineering students. Arrow’s Reno supply engineering team primarily focuses on three areas: Process Improvement, Project Management and Strategy.

Process Improvement – The engineering team uses Lean techniques to reduce the cycle time of process and the most reasonable cost while ensuring all employees safety

Project Management – Engineers are given projects and are responsible for all project management tasks for a project. All the way from the initiating the project to ensuring key stakeholders are pleased with the results.

Strategy – The engineering team looks 5 to 10 years out to determine processes and investments that will need to be implemented ahead of time in-order to handle future growth.


  • Currently a Sophomore or Junior pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Technology, Business, or Quality

  • Available to work full-time (40 hours/week) during the summer (May or June through Mid-August; Available start dates: May 21, May 29, June 4, June 11. Earliest end date is August 17)

  • 3.0 GPA or Higher

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Evaluate processes using engineering principles and recommend improvements

  • Develop ROI recommendations for projects based on quantitative and qualitative data analysis.

  • Implement and maintain 5S initiatives in a designated area

  • Develop an engineering standard and show the cost benefits of employees reaching a set level of performance

  • Design a pick cart in AutoCAD for use in the picking area that will enable associates to work at least 5% fast than using the current cart.

  • Develop 2D warehouse layouts using AutoCAD

  • Build relationships with industry subject matter experts
